Proposes requirements for bridge, gantry and portal cranes as defined in AS 2549. This Standard is complementary to AS 1418.1 and is generally technically equivalent to the 1990 edition but the content has been amended to allow for the latest edition of AS 1418.1. Other major changes include rationalization of the sections on access and clearances (including a new appendix giving diagrammatical representation of the requirements), new sections on electrical service isolations and guarding, new appendices on ladders and hazards, and the removal of references to statutory approval.
