Proposes requirements for hot-dip galvanized coatings on fabricated ferrous articles including structural steel, sheet fabrications, assembled products, fabricated tubes, fabricated wire work, nails, forgings, stampings, castings, centrifuged work and small components. This Standard does not apply to products such as wire, welded wire fabric or tube or sheet that have been hot-dip galvanized in continuous, semi-continuous or specialized plants. Appendices give information on the design and preparation of articles prior to galvanizing, dimensional stability, embrittlement of steel, the transport and storage of galvanized articles, the renovation of damaged or uncoated areas and factors that affect the corrosion of galvanized steel. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
