Proposes requirements for ferrous and non-ferrous, fluxed or un-fluxed filler metal for welding. The classification system adopted is basically in line with ANSI/AWS classification. Filler metals are given in seven groups - carbon and intermediate alloy steels, high alloy steels, cast iron, copper and copper alloys, magnesium alloys, aluminium alloys, and nickel and nickel alloys. An appendix giving guides to the application of filler metal is included. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
