Proposes requirements and recommendations for the safe handling and transport of dangerous cargoes in port areas. Its purpose is to provide the minimum acceptable requirements for facilities and operating procedures so as to ensure the protection of individuals, installations and the environment. It includes matters relating to repair work on ships and shore installations, fire precautions and day-to-day operations. Part 2 of this Standard adopts a significant proportion of the recommendations contained in Part 1 of the Standard.
