Proposes the adoption of ETS 300 421:1994 as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard. ETS 300 421 specifies framing structure, channel coding and modulation for digital television emission by satellite. Provides a general description of the system for satellite digital TV transmission and specifies the digitally modulated signal to facilitate compatibility between pieces of equipment developed by different manufacturers. Identifies global performance requirements and features of the system, in order to meet service quality targets. Copies of ETS 300 421 may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia office or at Standards New Zealand.
