Proposes an introduction to the concepts and principles that can lead to a fundamental understanding of quality management systems and the ISO 9000 series of Standards. It also provides a quality-related vocabulary. This draft is identical with the first Committee Draft issued by ISO/TC 176, the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee on Quality Management and Quality Assurance, and prepared by the Working Group (ISO/TC 176/SC 1/WG 1) under that Committee. When published, ISO/CD1 9000 will replace ISO 8402:1994 and ISO 9000.1:1994.
