Proposes the adoption of IEC 60439-1:1992, Amendment 1:1995, Amendment 2:1996 and Document 17D/214/FDIS, which specifies requirements for type-tested and partially type-tested low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies for rated voltages up to 1000 V a.c., at frequencies not exceeding 1000 Hz, or 1500 V d.c. Applies to assemblies intended for use in connection with generation, transmission, distribution and conversion of electric energy and the control of electric energy consuming equipment. Includes significant variations for Australian conditions and new proposals for Forms of Internal Separation of Assemblies by means other than partitions or barriers (metallic or non-metallic).
