Proposes general requirements for Australian native fresh cut flowers and foliage for export. Requirements include vase life, consistency and quality, core temperature, labelling, packaging and packing. Also included is a test which approximates the vase life of a flower for export after it reaches the end user. All flowers/foliage are tested in specified lighting and a specified atmosphere to enable comparability of vase life for mixed product and some assurance of the aesthetic appeal of the product upon arrival at its destination. Proposed specific requirements can be found in Part 2 to 7. Future drafts will include Proteus of South African genera as well as other Australian natives.
