Proposes the adoption of ISO/IEC 10021-4:1997 and its technical Corrigendum 1:1998, which defines the abstract-service provided by the message transfer system and specifies the procedures to be performed by message transfer agents. The complete text can be purchased from or viewed at the Sydney Information Centre of Standards Australia or at Standards New Zealand. Proposed as Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
