Proposes the adoption of ISO/IEC 8802-3:1996, which provides a specification for local area networks employing CSMA/CD as the access method which encompasses several media types and techniques for signal rates from 1 Mb/s to 20 Mb/s, and provides the necessary specification and related parameter values for 10Mb/s and 1 Mb/s baseband implementations. Specifications for 10BASE-T, 10BASE-FP, 10BASE-FB and layer management are also included.
