This European standard describes methods for determination of the properties of unshaped refractory materials from test pieces prepared and stored in accordance with prENV 1402-5 1). The methods complement those described in ENV 1402-6. The methods have been adapted from standards for shaped refractory products to make them applicable to dense and insulating castables, plastic materials and ramming mixes as defined in ENV 1402-1, before and after firing.
