This standard specifies the characteristics of plain hexagonal nuts in passivated heat resisting steel, with or without locking holes, the dimensions of which are in conformity with ISO 8279.These nuts are intended for use in aircraft assemblies, subjected principally to tension loading. They are intended to be used with bolts of 1 100 MPa ) tensile strength classification, at temperatures up to 650 °C.
