A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

It does not apply to electric blankets and pads (EN 60335-2-17, tentative publication date June 1998), electrical heating appliances for breeding animals (EN 60335-2-71), appliances used under medical supervision and electrical heated carpets.
