Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Establishes switching requirements for earthing switches used to earth transmission lines. Applies to alternating current earthing switches, rated 52 kV at least, capable of switching induced currents. Coverage includes definitions, rated induced current, rated induced voltage, temperature rise tests, making and breaking tests, and normal and special service conditions. Also gives detailed diagrams.
