A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Details a test to ensure that the captivation or attachment of a cable to a fibre optic device will withstand a flexing in one plane motion under tensile load of the sort likely to be applied during normal use. This test can be applied to single fibre cables and multiple fibre cables.
