A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

ISO 17232:2006 specifies two methods for determining the heat resistance of patent leather. Method A makes use of a modified lastometer while Method B uses the "Zwik" apparatus. Both methods are applicable to patent leathers for all end uses.
