Gives a method to determine the relative loss of mass which a metallic powder undergoes when heated in a stream of pure dry hydrogen under specific conditions. The test purpose is to evaluate a chemical powder characteristic which is of importance to the powder metallurgical industry. The test is not meant as a means to determine the content of specific elements. Applies to completely alloyed, partially alloyed and unalloyed powders of the metals listed. Does not apply to lubricated powders or mixtures of metal powders.
