AUTOMATIC EDDY-CURRENT TESTING OF TUBES - DETECTION OF IMPERFECTION IN STEEL TUBES
23-07-2013
12-01-2013
Specifies the procedures to be used for eddy-current testing of seamless and welded steel tubes for the detection of imperfections. Three different eddy-current testing methods, designated Method A, B and C, are specified, together with acceptance criteria and reference standards to establish the required level of test sensitivity. There is no restriction on tube diameter, with the exception that Method A is limited to a maximum tube diameter of 180 mm. It is intended that the Purchaser will specify in the relevant Product Specification which test method will be applied.
