This European Prestandard specifies services and methods for securing interactive communications used within healthcare. Interactive communications are defined for the purposes of this standard as scenarios where both systems are online and in bi-directional communication simultaneously. Securing in this European Prestandard includes the preservation of data integrity, the preservation of confidentiality with respect to the data being communicated, and accountability in terms of authentication of one or both communicating parties.
