Gives guidance on: (i) The capabilities of manual ultrasonic testing of welds in ferritic steel components to procedures devised in accordance with Parts 1-3. (ii) The access for scanning, outer surface condition and counterbore condition (where applicable) in relation to the levels of inspection capability and weld coverage that can be achieved. Covers the examination for welding defects; service-induced cracking is not specifically considered.
