Describes the translation mechanisms of a public ISDN that supports private numbers as defined by the authority of a Virtual Private telecommunication Network (VPN). Shows, on the basis of examples, solutions for selecting users connected to different exchanges (PTNXs) of the VPN, as well as standalone users.
