Bellcore's early preliminary view of proposed generic requirements for a customer control capability for the end-users of ISDN. The control capability, referred to as Direct Subscription Parameter Management (DSPM), would allow an end-user of ISDN to set or control the subscription parameters that characterize the services on his or her access line. This FA provides initial high-level requirements and highlights major issues requiring input from industry participants. This document includes a description of the SDPM capability and shows its relationship to Customer Network Management systems in operation today. Three major groups of capabilities needed to support DSPM are identified: switch based capabilities, user-network interface functions and capabilities assumed to exist in ISDN
