4 INTRODUCTION
Gives a generic type rating curriculum that may serve as a basis for schools to develop a training program outline (TPO) to meet the type rating training requirements of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) parts 61, 141, and 142. Also provides pilot certificate designations adopted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for aircraft type ratings and standardizes aircraft designations placed on pilot certificates to show type rating qualifications.
