    Les monte-charge définis par la norme NF P 82-201 (de janvier 1979) sont soumis, depuis le 1er janvier 1995, aux exigences essentielles de la Directive 98/37/CE relative aux machines, transposée en droit français par le Code du travail. L'article R. 233-84, annexe I (Décret n degrés 92-767 du 12 juillet 1992), présente les dispositions techniques applicables. Le présent document est un guide qui fournit des prescriptions complémentaires à la norme NF P 82-201 lorsque celle-ci ne répond pas, ou ne répond que partiellement, aux exigences formulées par la réglementation.
