Divided into two segments, the first segments (Sections 2 to 7) supply criteria for presentation and interactive elements associated with a user interface. These presentation and interactive elements are building blocks for various methods of user dialogs such as menu dialog. The second segment (Section 8) provides a menu system with which a human user can support the operations of next-generation transport network elements including SONET, FITL, and IDLC products.
