12-01-2013
For Harmonized Standards, check the EU site to confirm that the Standard is cited in the Official Journal.
Only cited Standards give presumption of conformance to New Approach Directives/Regulations.
Dates of withdrawal of national standards are available from NSAI.
Applies to non-alloy and low-alloy steels and irons with chromium content of 0.002 to 2.0 % (m/m) the method specified involves determination of chromium in a test portion (which has been prepared and treated in a specified manner) by means of the spectrometric measurement of the atomic absorption of the 357.87 nm line emitted by a chromium hollow cathode lamp when the solution is nebulized into a nitrous oxide acetylene flame.
