Gives the requirements for group 1, portable, transportable and fixed apparatus for detecting and measuring the methane concentrations in mine air. This apparatus, or parts of apparatus are meant for use in mines susceptible to firedamp. Applicable to apparatus meant for detecting and measuring the volume ratios of methane in air from a volume fraction of 0% up to 5%.
