For Harmonized Standards, check the EU site to confirm that the Standard is cited in the Official Journal.
Only cited Standards give presumption of conformance to New Approach Directives/Regulations.
Dates of withdrawal of national standards are available from NSAI.
Describes two methods for evaluating and comparing the resistance of solid dielectric materials to the initiation of tree-like patterns, i.e. a network of tubular channels wherein partial discharges may occur, during short-time stressing, with a highly divergent electric field. The tests are primarily used at power frequencies (48 Hz - 62 Hz). The tests are generally carried out at room temperature. If other temperatures are desired, these should not exceed the range of normal use of the material to be tested.
