A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

A re-edition of Clause 3 of IEC 60540. IEC 60885-1 and 60885-2 regroup the electrical test methods for electric cables and, in conjunction with the IEC 60811 series, replace IEC 60540.
