IP CODE OF PRACTICE FOR CALIBRATING AND CHECKING PROCESS ANALYSERS - CLOUD POINT ANALYSERS
01-05-1995
12-01-2013
Provides methods for calibrating, validating and checking process cloud point analysers which determine the temperature at which haziness occurs in petroleum oils when progressively cooled at a present rate. Relevant analysers are therefore those which cool the sample until haziness is detected by optical or similar means, record and temperature at which haziness forms, and initiate the introduction of a fresh sample and analysis cycle. The results are designed to relate empirically with Standard Test Method designation IP 219 (ASTM D2500). The prime objectives in applying these methods are to provide a usable analyser giving meaningful results, and to assure the user and other interested parties that the analyser result can be quoted with at least the same confidence as the corresponding results by the test method.
