A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

The tests are made to determine fatigue properties. They are carried out at room temperature, in air, the test piece being rotated. Test piece diameters are between 5 mm and 12,5 mm. The results may be affected by atmospheric conditions.
