A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Replace the existing sub-clause "11 g)" by "11.2 In addition to 11.1, if the purchaser requires the thermometer to bear an identifying number, the following inscription shall also be durably and legibly marked on the thermometer: manufacturer's identification or serial number, the last two digits of which should indicate the year of manufacture."
