ISO 22774:2004 specifies three test methods for determining the abrasion resistance of a shoelace, on repeated rubbing:
method 1: lace to lace abrasion;
method 2: lace to standard eyelet abrasion;
method 3: lace to eyelet (from footwear) abrasion.
