A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

The principle consists in the application of a gradually increasing load to a test piece. Apparatus, preparation of test piece, procedure and calculation and expression of results are described in detail. References are made to ISO 3129 and ISO 3130.
