A small quantity of the oil is analyzed by gas chromatography under specified conditions on a packed column. The alpha-terpineol content is determined by using the internal standard method. Operating temperatures: Oven: isotherm between 120 and 150 °C. Injection system: about 170 °C. Detector: about 170 °C.
