This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the following four kinds of washers having a function of spring. a) Spring lock washers of carbon steel, stainless steel or phosphor-bronze intended to be used for bolts, screws and nuts for general use, etc. b) Conical spring washers of carbon steel intended to be used for bolts, screws, nuts and hexagon socket head screws for general use, etc. c) Toothed lock washers of carbon steel or phosphor-bronze intended to be used for bolts, screws and nuts for general use, etc. d) Waved spring washers of carbon steel, stainless steel or phosphor-bronze intended to be used for bolts, screws and nuts for general use, etc. Table 1 gives the name and its abbreviation of those products.
