This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies retaining rings, which are generally used on a shaft or in a bore, of the following shapes: a) C-type retaining ring, of which the shape is like a letter C, of eccentric type; b) C-type retaining ring, of which the shape is like a letter C, concentric type; c) E-type retaining ring of which the shape is like a letter E; d) Grip retaining ring capable of retaining an object on the relative shaft, without setting any grooves, at a free position.
