This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the refracting type astronomical telescopes of the nominal effective aperture of objective lens are not more than 100 mm, and using the refraction system objectives constituted of not less than 2 pieces, hereinafter referred to as the \"refracting telescopes\", and the reflecting type astronomical telescopes of the nominal aperture not more than 180 mm and using reflection system objective mirror as optical system, hereinafter referred to as the \"reflecting telescopes\".
