This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the definitions of the directions of rotation, designations of valves installed on cylinders, banks and cylinder heads, and right-hand and left-hand and respective locations on body of an engine for all of the reciprocating internal combustion engines excluding for automobiles and aircrafts, hereinafter referred to as the \"engines\".
