Standard applies to the attachments, construction and accessories (1) of the stationary type pressure vessels which are the vessels retaining the pressure exceeding atmospheric pressure, vessels containing fluid which generates pressure, or the vessels subjected to the external pressure. However, the following pressure vessels are not included: (1) Those which are covered in the scopes of other Japanese Industrial Standards (2). (2) Those which are made of non-metallic materials. (3) Those which are related to nuclear energy. (4) Those which are of riveted construction and of brazed construction. (5) Those which are subjected to direct fire. (6) Those which are of special construction (3) or of special uses (4).
