This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies oil-sealed rotary vacuum pumps having continuous rating of ultimate pressure not exceeding 100 Pa and nominal discharge rate of 1.2 to 900 mx3/h and driven by 50 Hz or 60 Hz single-phase or 3-phase induction motors through belt transmission or direct connection with a shaft coupling among positive-displacement vacuum pumps, hereinafter referred to as the \"pumps\". The gas treated by the pump shall be air at -10 to 50 centigrade degrees.
