Clause 1 of JIS C 2814-1 is applicable except for the third paragraph replaced by: This Standard applies to connecting boxes for junction and/or tapping: -- whit fixed (integrated or incorporated) terminals or connecting devices; -- intended to be used with fixed terminals or connecting devices; -- intended to be used with floating terminals or connecting devices. This Standard does not apply to: -- mounting boxes or enclosures for accessories for household and similar fixed installations which are covered by JIS C 8462; -- boxes only intended for drawing through cables in conduit system. In this Standard connecting boxes are referred to as boxes.
