This Standard specifies the test methods to be used for testing polymeric insulating and sheathing materials of electric cables for power distribution and telecommunications including cables used on ships, and in offshore applications. This Standard gives the thermal ageing methods which apply to the most common types of insulating and sheathing compounds (elastomeric, PVC, PE, PP, etc.).
