This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies luminaires of explosion protected construction (fixed luminaires (including luminaires containing batteries) and portable luminaires, (hereafter referred to as \"luminaires\")) which are installed individually or integrated into a device as a component and are used a hazardous atmosphere zone (zone 1 and zone 2) defined in JIS C 0903. Luminaires for mines and ships are excluded.
