This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies flame proof type hand lanterns, (cylinder type flash lamp, cap lamp type and lantern type flash light, hereinafter referred to as the \"luminaire\"), for use in explosive gas atmospheres (hazardous zone 1 and hazardous zone 2) specified in JIS C 0903. However, the luminaires for coal mine and marine are excluded. Further, the items concerning explosion-protected construction not specified in this standard, shall comply with JIS C 0903.
