Covers the safety of refrigerating appliances, for household and similar use, icemakers for incorporation into frozen food storage compartments, and refrigerating appliances and icemakers for camping, touring caravans and boats, whose rated voltage is not in excess of 250V for single phase appliances, 480V for other appliances and 24 V d.c. for battery operated appliances. Applies to appliances operated from the mains, from a separate battery or from either mains or a separate battery. Does not apply to construction and operation of these appliances. Also applies to appliances not intended for household use, which may be a source of danger to the public, eg appliances in shops, light industry and farms.
