This Standard specifies general specification of bicycles for general use defined in JIS D 9111. Those bicycles with electric assisting mechanism, i.e. electric power assist bicycles are excluded from the scope of this Standard. Bicycles for general use refer to sports bicycle, city cycle, utility bicycle and children bicycle, and the folding or separable type bicycle is included.
