This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the d.c. surge arresters mounted on d.c. electric rolling stock and a.c./d.c. dual system electric rolling stock for the nominal line voltages 600 V, 750 V and 1 500 V. It is applicable to metal-oxide type (gapless) arresters which use the zinc oxide elements as characteristic elements.
