This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies a.c. surge arresters mounted on a.c. electric rolling stock and a.c./d.c. dual system electric rolling stock for the nominal a.c. line voltages 20 kV and 25 kV. It is applicable to zinc-oxide type (gapless) arresters which use the zinc oxide elements as characteristic elements.
