This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the load which carbody structures mainly for passenger car such as electric railcars, internal combustion railcars and passenger cars shall withstand, and also specifies the typical strength evaluation method when the structural design is performed by taking into consideration the stress generated by the load on the carbody structures as well as characteristics of materials to be used.
